Diemme is inspired by the heritage of hiking boots that have been made for centuries in our home region in Italy’s spectacular Dolomite mountains. Diemme designs evolve those traditions, using the finest materials and techniques to make hiking boots and sneakers that go the distance in mountain terrains or pounding city sidewalks.

We make all Diemme products under one roof at our family factory in Onè di Fonte, Veneto, a small town in north-eastern Italy. For centuries, this region has been regarded as the spiritual home of handmade outdoor footwear. Every Diemme pair is hand-crafted by expert workers producing limited production runs of high-quality artisan products. Diemme is sold by of some of the world’s most esteemed retailers.

  • Modica is a sneaker that expresses Diemme’s distinctive DNA, reinterpreted with lighter materials for the summer season. The upper is crafted from breathable canvas, paired with a cotton lining to ensure comfort in warm weather. A leather rand in tumbled nubuck is stitched directly to the upper and visually continues into the welt, which is fully wrapped in the same material and color. Subtle branding details include the mountain logo on the outer collar and the Diemme logo embroidered tone on tone on the tongue.

    The sole construction combines a leather-wrapped welt, a tonal sculpted micro midsole, and a Vibram rubber outsole. Two color variants feature a mixed-color outsole made with a percentage of recycled rubber, while the ecru version is finished with a solid-color outsole. Inside, Modica is completed with Diemme’s signature leather-covered latex footbed. The sneaker comes with tonal round polyester laces mounted, plus an extra pair of tonal round suede laces.

    Each pair comes with two sets of laces, one in suede and one in tonal polyester, allowing for subtle variation in styling.
