Diemme and Sunflower team up to unveil their first collaboration during its fashion show in Copenhagen. Introduced in a runway setting, the Cornaro Gala presents a refined reinterpretation of Diemme’s Cornaro Gomma, shifting a familiar hiking silhouette into a more composed and deliberate context. The design draws inspiration from the idea of transition. Not fully technical, not strictly formal. The Cornaro Gala reflects moments spent between destinations, where functional objects are worn beyond their original purpose and softened by use. This sensibility informs the stripped back approach to the shoe, focusing on proportion, material contrast, and subtle detailing instead of explicit technical references. Based on the Cornaro Gomma, a low cut hiking shoe with mountaineering origins, the Cornaro Gala removes traditional alpine hardware in favor of classic punched eyelets. The technical rubber rand is reworked through nappa and patent leathers, introducing a shift in texture and finish that elevates the silhouette without altering its core structure. These choices allow the shoe to move away from pure outdoor reference points, opening space for a quieter and more versatile expression. The result balances utility and elegance, staying grounded in Diemme’s design language while embracing a more refined attitude. The Cornaro Gala feels familiar yet altered, functional yet considered, designed to exist comfortably across settings rather than being tied to a single environment. The Cornaro Gala is offered in three versions: Black full grain leather with a black patent leather rand. Bison hairy suede with a chocolate brown patent leather rand.
